Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 17, 2026

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Great Valley Electric website located at [Website URL] and, where applicable, the services provided by Great Valley Electric

By using our website, requesting an estimate, scheduling services, or engaging us to perform electrical work, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

Great Valley Electric provides electrical contracting services, which may include residential, commercial, repair, installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and related electrical services.

The exact scope of work will depend on the services requested and the estimate, proposal, work authorization, or other agreement provided for your project.

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service request when conditions are unsafe, outside our licensing or capabilities, prohibited by law, or otherwise unsuitable for our business.

2. Estimates and Pricing

Any estimate or quote we provide is based on the information and conditions reasonably known to us at the time it is prepared.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing:

Estimates are not necessarily fixed-price contracts.

Additional work or unforeseen conditions may result in additional charges.

Hidden, concealed, damaged, defective, or non-code-compliant conditions may require additional work.

Material prices and availability may change.

Permit, inspection, utility, engineering, or other third-party fees may be charged when applicable.

Where additional work is identified, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate the anticipated additional cost before proceeding when circumstances permit.

3. Scope of Work

We will perform the work described in the applicable estimate, proposal, work order, or other written agreement.

Requests for work outside the original scope may constitute additional work and may result in additional charges.

Changes to the scope of work may affect the price, materials, completion date, and other project requirements.

4. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate information about the property and requested work.

Provide reasonable access to areas where work is to be performed.

Obtain any permissions required from property owners, landlords, homeowners' associations, or other parties when applicable.

Inform us of known hazards, existing electrical problems, previous work, or other conditions that could affect the project.

Maintain safe access to the work area.

Pay invoices and other amounts due according to the agreed payment terms.

You are responsible for obtaining any permissions that are legally your responsibility unless we expressly agree in writing to obtain them on your behalf.

5. Existing Conditions

Electrical work may reveal conditions that were not visible or reasonably discoverable before work begins.

These conditions may include:

Outdated or damaged wiring

Improper prior installations

Code violations

Water or fire damage

Structural problems

Damaged electrical equipment

Inadequate capacity

Concealed wiring or piping

Hazardous materials

Other conditions that could not reasonably be identified during the initial assessment

We may recommend additional work when necessary for safety, code compliance, or proper completion of the requested work.

6. Permits and Inspections

Where required, electrical work may be subject to permits, inspections, utility requirements, or approval by governmental or other authorities.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, our responsibility for permits and inspections is limited to those services specifically included in the agreed scope of work.

We are not responsible for delays caused by permitting authorities, inspectors, utilities, manufacturers, suppliers, weather, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

7. Payment

Payment is due according to the payment terms stated in your estimate, proposal, invoice, or service agreement.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, amounts that are not disputed in good faith may be subject to applicable late charges or collection costs to the extent permitted by law.

We reserve the right to suspend or postpone work when amounts properly due remain unpaid.

For larger projects, deposits, progress payments, or other payment arrangements may be required and will be specified in the applicable agreement.

8. Cancellation and Rescheduling

We understand that schedules sometimes change. Cancellation or rescheduling policies may vary depending on the type and stage of the project.

If a cancellation or rescheduling fee applies, it will be disclosed in the applicable estimate, service agreement, or scheduling confirmation where reasonably possible.

We may charge for materials already purchased, work already performed, special-order items, or other non-refundable costs when permitted by law.

9. Materials and Equipment

We may select materials and equipment that are reasonably appropriate for the agreed scope of work, subject to applicable specifications and code requirements.

Manufacturer warranties, where available, are generally provided by the manufacturer and are subject to the manufacturer's terms.

Special-order or customer-requested materials may have different costs, availability, return, or warranty conditions.

10. Workmanship

We will perform our services in a professional manner consistent with applicable laws, codes, licensing requirements, and generally accepted industry practices.

Any workmanship warranty we provide will be governed by the terms specifically stated in your estimate, proposal, invoice, or service agreement.

Manufacturer warranties are separate from any workmanship warranty provided by us.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Customer-Supplied Materials

If you provide materials or equipment for installation, we may inspect them to the extent reasonably possible.

We are not responsible for defects, incompatibility, improper specifications, missing components, manufacturer defects, or other problems associated with customer-supplied materials or equipment.

We may decline to install materials or equipment that we reasonably believe are unsafe, defective, incompatible, damaged, or non-compliant with applicable requirements.

12. Safety

Electrical work can involve significant risks, including electrical shock, fire, property damage, and other hazards.

We may stop or refuse work if we determine that conditions are unsafe or that proceeding could create an unreasonable risk to our personnel, the property, or others.

Where necessary, additional corrective work may be required before the requested work can safely proceed.

13. Website Use

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Great Valley Electric will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability or rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

Any limitations of liability applicable to a specific project may also be governed by the written agreement, estimate, proposal, or service contract for that project.

16. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, utility outages, labor disruptions, supply-chain problems, material shortages, governmental actions, permitting delays, transportation issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

17. Compliance With Law

We will perform services in accordance with applicable licensing requirements, electrical codes, building requirements, and other laws and regulations applicable to the work.

If applicable law provides you with rights or protections that conflict with these Terms, those legal rights and protections will remain in effect.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will become effective when posted on our website unless a different effective date is stated.

The Terms applicable to a particular electrical project are generally those agreed upon when the project is authorized, unless otherwise required by law or subsequently agreed to in writing.

21. Governing Law

These Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that applicable law requires otherwise.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any dispute-resolution provisions contained in the applicable service agreement.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
